The Guild to Sponsor its Second Costume and Fur Meet & Sew

Keep an eye on the calendar and FaceBook events, the Fantasy Artists, RolePlayers & Writers Guild is holding its second Costume and Fur Meet & Sew around the end of Jun and Beginning of July, we’re working out the best time with JoAnn Fabric in Boise.

The Meet & Sews are a way for fans to meet and not only work on costumes and fursuits, it’s a forum for trading techniques and ideas with other fans.  Milady Kim and the Guild are sponsoring this event which is free for all fans to attend and the location at JoAnn’s worked out very well last time as participants were able to zip out to the store for supplies if needed and the room was well set up for tables and outlets.  Milady Kim will be bringing her sewing machine in case anyone needs to borrow a machine and will be more than happy to provide any help she can.

The first meet was a fur meet, but as with all things we do the scope of the event is expanding to costumes and cosplay as well.  This will be an excellent opportunity to put in some time getting ready for Fandemonium in good company and even get or give help.  Everyone has something to teach and this is a chance to share knowledge and good times.  If anyone has ideas and suggestions you can pass them along here in the Red Zone, in the Guild, or by emailing guildmaster@farpwg.org.

About Tim Boothby

Tim Boothby is a fan from the old school, he was hooked on Tolkien, Verne, Wells, Clarke and a huge list of others from the time he started reading. He's equally old school about gaming, starting back to when the D&D books were mostly faded mimeograph pages that smelled funny and stained your fingers when you held them and the standard dice exploded when you threw them at the wall. Since then he’s played more than 30 Role Playing Games and designed a few himself. He combined his love of classic science-fiction, fantasy, gaming with his appreciation of the internet and (occasionally questionable) journalistic skills to build a small network of gaming-related sites: The Fantasy Artists, Role-Players and Writer’s Guild, Scribe of the Realm and co-founded Red Zone Fandom.
